how to use treadmill while watching TV
I am a 26 year old female. I love to watch tv and movies, and I am not really that in to exercising.
I have found that the easiest way for me to get some exercise every day is if I bring those two things together.
I will download a tv show that I love, or one that I am interested in seeing, on to my laptop. I also often download movies onto my laptop that I am interested in, or because I think the trailer for them looks good or whatever. I often end up watching a lot of bad movies, but it is not a big deal.
I take my laptop and I set it up on the windowsill right in front of my treadmill. I will watch a tv episode or a movie while I walk at a speed of about 3.5 miles per hour.
I have short legs, so this is a pretty decent speed for me to go at to keep my heart rate up. I will walk for 2 miles, which takes me about 35 minutes.
Usually a tv episode is more like 40 minutes, so I will pause it right before it ends.
After, I do some leg stretches. This sort of exercise works for me because it feels more like I am getting to watch tv than I am really exercising.
No, it is not the hardest thing in the world that I could be doing, but so far it helps to keep me feeling good, and when I combine it with a healthy diet, it keeps the weight off.
I like it that our treadmill is right in the basement, so it only takes me a few minutes to get changed and then walk down there.
If I had to physically leave my house to go to a gym or run around outside, I know for a fact that I would exercise a lot less.
So this is very convenient for me.
